ABOUT YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS

         Five (5) fire commissioners are elected by the registered voters of the fire district.  They are elected to staggered 3-year terms; with two (2) seats, then two (2) seats, and then one (1) seat being open for nomination and election in successive years.

            Public Elections for Fire District issues are conducted annually, on the third (3^rd) Saturday of every February, between the hours of 2:00 P.M and 9:00 P.M., as mandated by state statute.

            During each election, commissioners will be elected to their respective terms and Annual Budgets will be determined.  It is also possible that other initiatives; such as Approvals for Capital Purchases and or other referendum issues, may be submitted for voter approval.

            Public Workshop Meetings and Regular Public Meetings of this district are held monthly, generally on the second (2^nd) Monday and the second (2^nd) Tuesday of each month.

Workshop Meetings start at 7:00 P.M. and Regular Meetings at 8:00 P.M.  (Please see the posted meeting schedule on this site.)

            If necessary, additional Special Meetings may be conducted, following Public Notification of such, as required by state statute.  Public Notices will include the starting time.

            All meetings of the fire district are held at the headquarters of the Ramtown-Howell Fire Company No. 2, located at 88 Ramtown-Greenville Road, in the Township of Howell.
